MAXIME CHARRON
Expert
A graduate in Archeology and a Master's degree from the École du Louvre, Maxime Charron cut his teeth at Christie's during the sale of the Saint Laurent-Bergé collection, then trained with expert Cyrille Boulay at within the Coutau-Bégarie auctioneer's office where, for five years, he was responsible for sales of Russian art and Historical memorabilia. He moved in independently in 2014 and created the Royal Provenance gallery, to satisfy his passion for history and his desire to discover still hidden treasures. This has since led him to exhibit in prestigious fairs such as Fine Arts Paris and Tefaf Maastricht, and to sell for many museums around the world.
At the same time, in 2019 he created his expertise firm to meet an ever-growing demand for expertise and advice from Parisian and provincial auction houses, individual clients and public and private institutions. This is how today a hundred auctioneers trust him to appraise their works of Russian art, historical souvenirs and objects of Vertu. On May 30, 2018, for his first sale of Russian art at Millon, he sold a set of diamonds from the Order of the White Eagle for €1,113,000.
In 2023, his 'cabinet' achieved 5.2 million euros in auctions, out of a total of 3,600 items appraised in 173 different auction houses. Its appraised objects experience several pre-emptions from French museums each year, notably two from the Louvre Museum in 2022, for a triptych icon and a Sèvres porcelain plate, clearly revealing the diversity of its areas of expertise and the renewed confidence that those involved in the art market gives it.
