A former student of Bogdan Villevalde at the Imperial Academy of Arts, Mazurovsky became the official painter of the Imperial Russian Army, traveling with different regiments and creating a set of canvases inspired by his observations. In 1907, the creation of the designs for the last series of military plates was entrusted to him. The golden marlis were designed by Rudolf Vilde von Vildeman (1868-1937), head of the manufactory's paint workshop, who continued to work after the 1917 Revolution under the name Rudolf Vilde.
